蒋十三早年丧妻，妻子去世后一直和女儿蒋小渔的关系相处的不融洽。打生活能自理后，蒋小渔便搬离了蒋十三的老厂区房，就这样蒋十三邋里邋遢、糊里糊涂的过了半辈子。像他这样既不优秀又不勤快的人，在这老厂区里确是老街坊们的开心果子，大家伙都爱和蒋十三闲聊和打牌，因为他为人耿直、善良、对朋友又大方。认识了离异后的张云茜，两人的关系是日渐亲蜜。而蒋十三觉得亏欠张云茜，打算在自家的房本上填上张云茜的名字，也算对得起她这么些年给自己无微不至的照顾和关爱。但要实现这个承诺，他就必须先找到失联几年的女儿蒋小渔，想办法修复父女关系，才能如愿在房本上填上张云茜的名。于是蒋十三开始了一段十分艰辛的感情修补之路，这也是他此生必须完成的任务，不但要做一个好丈夫，还要重新再做回好父亲，来填补对女儿的愧疚。
