宋珂（郑君里 饰）出生在一个平穷的农民家庭之中，地主曹人杰（袁丛美 饰）看上了宋珂的妹妹，将她强行抢走为妻，女孩因为不愿意受辱而选择了自杀。不仅如此，宋珂的弟弟和父亲都因为曹人杰而死，为了自保，宋珂只能背井离乡，逃亡其他的城市。 一晃眼多年过去，宋珂内心里的仇恨没有半分的减少，他失去了笑容，变成了一个冷酷无情的人。在南洋，宋珂邂逅了名为柳花（黎莉莉 饰）的女子，因为和宋珂有着极为相似的经历，柳花深深的爱上了宋珂，可是宋珂内心充满了仇恨，不为所动。宋珂得知曹人杰也来到了南洋，在柳花的帮助下，他决定向对方寻仇。
